Your right to withdraw from the van insurance contract - "Cooling-off period"
When you purchase a van insurance policy from us, you have a fourteen-day period during which you can change your mind and withdraw from the contract.
This fourteen-day period starts from the date on which your insurance policy
commences or the date on which you receive your policy documents,
whichever is later. If you decide to cancel your insurance policy
during this period, your insurer may make a proportionate charge for
the time your insurance has been in force, and a proportionate charge
may also be made for any add-on policies you may have taken. In
addition, we will retain a charge up to £15 for the set up of the
policy. As long as you have not made any insurance claims, any other
money you may have paid us will then be refunded. If you wish to
exercise your right to withdraw from your insurance policy you should
advise us of this by calling us on 0845 601 2222 or by writing to us at:
Aon Select
Prospect House
Gordon Banks Drive
Trentham Lakes North
Stoke-on-Trent
ST4 4TW.
You must return with this letter any Cover Note or Certificate of Insurance we have sent to you.
Cancelling your van insurance after the cooling-off period
If you need to cancel your van insurance policy, please call us for further information on 0845 601 2222. Lines are open 8:00am-8:00pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am-4:00pm on Saturdays.
In the event that your van insurance policy is cancelled prior to renewal date of its current term and after the cooling-off period, we will make a non-refundable charge in respect of commission lost by the cancellation. Please see our "Charges structure" for details on our charges. If no refund is given by your insurer due to the period of insurance that has been provided or in the event of a claim being made, no additional lost commission fee will be payable.
The cost of any add-on products (for example, Legal Expenses) you may have purchased will be non-refundable after the cooling off period.
In the event that your policy is cancelled and there are unpaid monies, we may withhold documents, for example any confirmation of no claims bonus to which you may be entitled, until full payment is made. Any discount we may previously have given you may also be reversed.
