1. How soon before my trip should I arrange travel insurance?
Arrange travel insurance as soon as you book your trip. This will ensure you are covered for cancellation and curtailment.
2. Why take out an annual travel insurance policy?
If you are intending to travel more than once a year, it may be more cost effective to take out an annual travel insurance
policy, which covers you for any number of journeys for the whole year. This also saves you the hassle of arranging cover each
time you travel.
3. What's the maximum length of time I can be covered per trip?
For an annual travel insurance policy, the maximum is 45 days per trip. For a single trip travel insurance policy, the maximum is
6 months per trip.
4. My age will change during the policy period - will this affect my insurance cover?
Your age, for the purposes of this insurance, will be calculated from the date you take out your travel insurance policy,
regardless of it changing during the period of cover.
5. Can I travel independently of the others named on the travel insurance policy?
Adults can travel independently. However, children covered under the annual multi-trip family policy can travel without the adult named on the
same travel insurance whilst travelling under the supervision of an adult who is responsible for their care for the length of the trip.
6. Can I amend my cover part way through my travel insurance policy?
Generally, you can amend your "single trip" travel insurance policy as long as you do so before you travel.
You can amend your "annual" travel insurance policy to accommodate your coming holiday. Please contact our customer
services department on 0845 601 2222.
7. Do you provide 24-hour assistance while I'm on holiday?
Our travel insurance policies provide 24-hour worldwide emergency medical assistance.
8. Does your travel insurance cover my car if it breaks down in Europe?
Our travel insurance doesn't cover car breakdown. However, if you have a car insurance policy with us,
you can add breakdown cover for the remainder of the year.
9. Which destinations do you provide travel insurance cover for?
You can choose Europe or Worldwide cover for single trip policies. All our annual multi-trip policies include Worldwide cover as standard. For the purposes of this travel insurance, Europe
includes Republic of Ireland, Madeira, the Canary Islands, Syria, Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel and all
countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.
10. Are my holidays in the UK covered by my travel insurance?
Holidays within the UK are generally covered if they include at least two nights' pre-booked accommodation.
However, each insurer has slightly different criteria and we recommend you consult the travel insurance policy
documents.
11. Are my business trips covered by my travel insurance?
Our single-trip travel insurance policy covers you for your business trips, though not for your
business equipment. Some insurers offer cover for business trips on an annual travel insurance policy if they
include some pre-booked accommodation. However, each insurer has slightly different criteria and we recommend you
consult the travel insurance policy documents.
